My visits have been up lately. But still I have a long way to go. What is a good level to aim for in the long run on Google Analytic.

It is always good to have more traffic. There is no magic number. You can have a site that gets 1000 visits a day that makes a lot more money than a site that has 100,000 visits a day and vice versa.
