So Im looking through my report and drill down to a given metro area and its a really small town. Is there any option to see the time of days of each of these visits, without going into the log file?

IMO, GA do not show the exact time when a user came to a website

Of "each" visit individually, no.
Closest you'll get is how many visits were made during a certain hour of the day.
