If you have a goal funnel set up in Analytics I have found that on many occasions despite a page being the 'next step' Analytics records it as an a exit to another page.

What I mean by this is say a there are two users in the basket then two (100%) proceed to sign in then 2 (100%) proceed to Delivery then 1 (50%) proceeds to Billing (url/checkout/billing.aspx) while the other visitor appears to have left (indicated by red arrow on right hand side of flow diagram) but the visitor goes to the same url/checkout/billing.aspx page?

I can't explain this other than Analytics counting a refreshed page or something, but then I assume that the numbers used here are unique page views which would discount this?

I've seen this behavior before, and it confounds me. There may be a great reason for it, but without knowing the reasoning behind it I don't know how much I can trust the numbers I'm seeing.

Did you ever find info on this on another forum or from google?
