Have you been watching the stuff in Scheduler >> Job Queue?
When you try to analyze a profile, does it simply never show up on that screen at all? Then my top suspect is the WebTrends Scheduler Service. I would restart it. In fact, I would reboot the whole WebTrends server and then look at the Services and make sure all the WebTrends ones successfully started after the reboot.
Are profiles going into the queue and then not getting out of the queue? If so, you probably have a corrupted scheduler database that can probably be repaired. There is a series of little operations you can do to fix most cases. The instructions have been posted on the WebTrends User Forum several times, so let me know if you need to know how to find them over there.
Are profiles going into the queue, then going into the active window, then finishing almost immediately with a "Completed" message in the profile list, but nothing new showing in the reports? If so, click on the "Completed" message to look at a history of what happened, and look for any errors. You may have to go back a couple screens. It may tell you it couldn't find any data, or the data was in an invalid format, or lots of other things.
Are profiles going into the queue, then going into the active window, then finishing with an error message next to the profile name? Same thing - click on the error message in the main profile list to see what WebTrends things was wrong.
Am I helping yet?
many thanks for your suggestions. As I am no WT expert I will try to answer as simple as possible:
1. I see the following local WT services as started:
Apache, MySQL, Scheduler Agent System Monitor, Tomcat and UI
2. Rebooting does not change anything
3. For the profile I see the following: Clickable are ANALYZE NOW and CLEAR ANALYZE DATA
4. As Analysis Status I see NO STATUS MESSAGES EXIST FOR THIS EVENT
5. Clicking I get the message The event ... has been added to the event queue
6. Nothing is happening: Nothing, no error message
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Carlo
My guess is that you have a little corruption in your scheduler database. Do you have admin access to the WebTrends installation? Sounds like you do.
I see you've showed up with this question in the WebTrends user forum. I'll go over there and point you to the item with the repair instructions.
