If the impressions from Adsense adds up to 50 impressions in a day and the number of page requests in your traffic log on that day is also 50, does that mean you had no visits from any search engine robots that day?

It depends on what you are using for tracking. A lot of the tracking applications will spilt the total so you can determine how many users, how many bots and much more. If you are simply viewing your log files the only way to know if a bot has visited your pages is to view the user agent string.
