I work with a site catering primarily to government and academics. How can I filter .gov traffic and .edu traffic -- to see their visit patterns on the site (e.g. what pages the .gov visitors look at, etc)

Thanks

Advanced Segments
Dimensions -> Traffic Source
Source -> Matches Regular Expression
[insert regular expression here to look for .edu or .gov]

Then you click Test Segment to make sure the numbers look OK. The easiest way to test this is to first set your date range to 1 day, go to your traffic sources reports, look at referring sites and manually count up the .gov visitor count (use the including.gov on the bottom of the page). Then go back to your segment and it will be adjusted for 1 day so you can compare the number you calculated to the number you see after you press Test Segment and hopefully they match.
