awstats versus google analytics (formerly urchin stats)

im wondering if any body can tell me what is the difference between awstats and google analytics
which is better and why?
please if possible advantages and disadvantages

Check if Google Analytics is allow free signups now. They sent an email saying they had stopped adding new sites

I find Google Analytics much more difficult to use. They seem to hide much of the information and it is slow to use.

In theory the major advantage should be seeing how customers move through your site (awstats cannot do this) and the conversion value/ROI for various campaigns.

I think they have a fair why to go with this product. I have no idea how the company that first owned this sold it as it really isn't ready for market.
