Hi Guys

I have two small websites.
I have been with Statcounter for the last 2 years. First I had their free version, then I updated to a paid version to get a bigger log file.

I have just noticed Google Analytics, as I am on Adwords Standard Edition.

My question is that does Google Analytics do as much as Statcounter ? it is obviously better in that it is free !

Am I getting something from Statcounter that I could not get from Analytics ?

Are there any downsides to Analytics ?

Kind Regards

Data is only as useful as it's accuracy. Both services are good and if the cost is affordable I recommend using more than one tracking service.

If you're not using the data to create action plans then it's really not worth switching.

Google Analytics gives you more info, keeps everything permanently, but updates numbers slowly.

It also has a worse UI, with slow loading flash applets.

Statcounter has a clean interface, and updates in real times (mostly!).

I came to this forum because I discovered a bug in Statcounter today, which I will start another thread about.
