Here are my details during the span of the past month:
*Used GA to track my vistors
*Did PPC campaigns on AdWords, Facebook, MSN, and AdBrite
*79.44% bounce rate
So it's because my ads suck and irrelevant right?
I dropped AdBrite for the last week due to high CTR% which screamed CLICK FRAUD to me.
Is there any other information I can provide you guys without giving you access to my PPC campaign accounts and linking to my website?
I'm about to go angry incredible hulk style...
If you have a highly targetted landing page your bounce rate will be higher than if you have a landing page which forces people to click through to additional pages for find all the infomation they need.
The highly targetted landing page may however provide a higher overall conversion rate.
What you measure is the most important thing with PPC.
AdBrite?
Question for you: did you have different bounce rates for the different sources? If they're the same ads, same general CTR, then the bounce rate should be similar.
I think 80% is extremely high for a bounce rate, period. It implies a big mismatch between what people are expecting and what they're finding. The mismatch could be at the ad/keyword end of things, or the landing page could suck.
OR possibly it implies that they find exactly what they want, and it is all on the landing page. You'd be the best judge of whether 1 page is a "good" visit.
Or possibly some fraud. Google's getting pretty good at detecting fraud for their Content Network participants, although we still saw something Google missed about three months ago.
