Hi All,

this is my first post here and I wanted some inputs on what metrics to look at for A/B testing a site's navigation.

Here's the scenario:

the Current site: the sites navigation currently has a bunch of links which drops down when we mouse over it. The top text which triggers the drop down is not clickable.

The test site: the top text link which triggers the navigation is clickable

I'm not very sure what the business logic here is, but i've been entrused to run the test. Also there are a few concerns. The original site is tracked by omniture, but the test site is tracked by another analytics software.

so my question is....

1. what are the metrics that I should look at - despite missing business reason for testing

2. any suggestions, templates, thoughts, ideas etc are much appreciated.

thanks,
kiran

You could just get a real time tracker that tracks mouse movements and clicks and put it on the current site to see if anyone is clicking the top level navs.

Personally I hate it when top level navs aren't clickable.
