How Does Google Analytics Measure Return Visits?

especially by keyword

If Google Analytics says that I got a 80% new visit rate on a keyword, that's the same as a 20% return visit right?

When it counts someone as a return visitor particularly for a keyword, does that mean the person returned using that keyword after a previous visit?

Or did they use that keyword once to arrive at our site, leave, and then come back again perhaps directly from a bookmark? Are they still counted as a return visitor for that keyword?

No it just means that those 20% have been to your site before. It does not track it by keyword.
