I've removed a GA tracking code on a page and replaced it with a completely new one. The old code is no where on my site but yet GA says the code is receiving data.

Any ideas on how to stop this from happening or do I need to delete the code from GA?

Thanks,

Quadrille

Have you accidently created an extra account (seems to be easily done!)?

Have you removed the Analytics JavaScript code snippet from *all* your pages so that your site doesn't continue to accrue data?

Have you asked *all users* of your account to delete any scheduled email reports that they might have created?

Has anybody copied your page and, with it, the code?

Look at the "hostnames" part of the report to discover which domains the code is still being tracked.

someone might just have a cached version of your page in their browser, complete with tracking code at the bottom. there's not much you can do about that until the page expires or they clear their cache
