Google Analytics: Can I make myself 'invisible'?

Do not log, ignore user, ignore platform

Using Google analytics, which does seem great, I now want to make myself, or rather my IP and User / Operating System / Browser invisible, so that it is ignored or 'filtered' out of final readings, as all this data is generated when I am testing my site.

I only want to record my visitors data, not mine.

Anybody help?

a quick fix solution would be to turn off JavaScript in your browser, presuming your site doesn't depend on other JavaScript functions.

What does that do to analytics?

what we've done is to filter out our office ip address. this does presuppose that you have a fixed ip in the office though. if you don't then i would recommend that you move to a broadband plan with a fixed ip.

Now that sounds promising....

Google analytics tracks it's data via javascript. So if you visit your site with javascript turned off google wont be able to log you.

You'll also get to see what your site looks like and see if any functionality is borked with js turned off.

you don't really need to understand regular expressions. when you go in to create a filter it asks you what type of filter to create. one of the options is to filter out an ip address. when you create the filter it gives an example for you to edit. where the example ip address is replace with your own.
