GA Top Content Page report: url keeps showing in top content

hello guys, i need your help. A certain url keeps on appearing in my G.Analytics top content page report. the more confusing part is, this particular page/url doesnt even exist in my website. i've ransacked the entire website just to find the url but i found nothing. Somebody said its one of the common mistake of web developing, might be the way the website is being structured.

the exact url shows like this:
http://www.example.com/http://www.example.com/default.asp/

what are the possible cause of this? how can i fix it? i appreciate all the help i can get. thanks much! =)

most likely you have a mistyped leading slash somewhere like this:
href="/http://www.example.com/default.asp/"
and the browser is prepending the http://www.example.com

Under Profile Settings, check what you have for Default Page. It should be something like default.asp, if there is a full url there like http://www.example.com/default.asp/ this could be causing the problem in your report.

yes, the profile setting. i placed the complete url instead of default.asp only. =)
