I was hoping someone could help me with this.

Say you have a 10 page site and an ad unit on each page. The total impressions comes out to 50. But if you look at your server logs the number of page requests is over 100.

Could this mean that Googlebot visited a lot? Do visits from search engine robots count as a page request? I don't know if this helps but a majority of the 100 page requests took place in a one hour period. I don't really have any more specific information, that is why I wanted to do a post on this.

Yeah. In your server logs, visits from search engine robots count as page requests. However, it's unlikely you got, in 1hr, a 100 visits to a 10 page site from the Googlebot.

Do you think maybe they could be many visits from Google, Yahoo and MSN all during that hour and that is accounting for the 100 visits?

It's possible, but not likely.

If I were to guess, I think it was probably just a rogue (poorly written) bot.

Thanks. It is good to have an idea about what might be the reason for this.
