Unwanted foreign signups

I would like to block foreign registrations on my website, and I'm not sure what the best way to go about this is.

Currently, over 50% of sign ups are from abroad and the offer is only available in the UK.

Would it be a case of flagging up on the site it is UK only, or would I need to get into blocking IP addresses?

Any ideas/suggestions would be very welcome.

Have you stated clearly on your sign up page that it is for UK only?

If visitors can only find out later it is a waste of their time and yours and nobody is happy.
