Anyone here using it?

I just found a funny looking logo on a competitor's site, so I clicked on it and was shocked and amazed when it took me to a site (Extreme Tracking) which gave me access to all their site stats!

I can't imagine why anyone would take the free version knowing that competitors can view their stats ... but there you go!

Does anyone here use the private version? Is it any better or worse than other free tracking packages around?

I was very impressed by the reports generated ... but that's only because my logs are so pathetic, that they are of little use to me at all.

Ever since I had trouble with keeping Traxis running, I have been starved for good log reports.

Any thoughts. If you haven't seen it, sticky me and I'll send you the domain I found it on so you can compare.

For 5 bucks a month you can get the invisable tracker.
I have placed it on some cheap client sites.
Seem to make them happy.
No more horsepower than the free version as I remember.

Liane, is there a reason why you need to have online stats ?

Do you have access to your raw logs?

Yeah, I use it on some pages where, for one reason or another, I'm not worried about the competition seeing the keywords and top referrers. It's a great way to keep an eye on a site if you're satisfied with that level of reporting.

It's not very good on determining trends since everything is cumulative, that's the biggest overall weakness as far as I'm concerned. But, if you're a regular here at wmw you usually have enough info to compensate and fill in the gaps.

I used Extreme Tracking a few years ago for a personal site and while it was slow and cumbersome, the stats reports spoiled me with lots of data for each of my pages (200+). It provided the same depth of analysis for each single page as it did for my entire site -- something I've yet to find in a log analysis package. Although I haven't used it in a while, I thought it was a great service. I wouldn't recommend it for large commercial sites, but for small sites, I felt it couldn't be beat.

I LOVE Extreme Tracking (and nedstatbasic, and stats4all). GREAT research tools!

If you make the images 0 height and 0 width then the tracking still works, but visitors cannot see the links.

Only people that look at your HTML code, and knew what they were looking for, would find your stats.
