Word "betaa" in logs?

I'm seeing it in several sites.

I am noticing a single word "betaa" in the reports of search terms which were used to bring visitors to several sites.

The term does not appear in any on-page or off-page content, and has no meaning to any of the sites.

All sites use AWstats and are on the same hosting company's server(s), but they are otherwise unrelated in theme or content.

I'm wondering if it's a bot or some type of sniffing going on...

The term seems to be search for on a percentage basis, (e.g.- the more traffic, the higher the count for the word "betaa" in the logs).

Anyone else seeing this?

I saw this today, so I did a little investigation by going through the access_log for references to "betaa"... it seems as though it may be comcast search related.

Comcast's search engine add a query parameter of con=betaa" e.g. I found this as a referral: [search.comcast.net...]

I have to think that perhaps AWStats isn't handling comcast search correctly and it's counting that parameters as a keyword for whatever reason. This is as far as I'll bother exploring it because of the low search traffic volume they send me.

that might explain it. Thanks for looking at all.. I have a lot of Comcast users in my area.
