Help In webtrends to track how many time a file is downloaded

I have a link to download a pdf file in my website.I need to track how many time people downloaded the file.

Please help me how do i can get it to work in webtrends
I got the below syntax in one of the document .But How do i use it i am not sure.

Defines the name of the advertisement clicked to reach a particular web page. The Ad
Click must contain an external redirect back to the client. The redirect needs to include
the necessary code to generate a hit to the SDC server.

Is this SDC data collection, or server logs?

If you use SDC (javascript tags), you'll need to use either DCSMultiTrack code in the link to the pdf, or just switch to the Advanced Tag (tagbuilder.webtrends.com) which will automatically sense a click on a pdf link.

If you use server logs, WT.ac could work for you but actually your pdf downloads will be already appearing in the Downloads report.

I am using SDC data collection.I have multiple download links .how do i configure it for dynamic values in SDC multitrack.

It will help me if anyone can provide an example on this .

Questions. Are you using the current SDC tag or not, the one that automatically detects if a click is a request for a PDF? What do you mean by "dynamic values"? Do you have the MultiTrack documentation available from WebTrends? If you aren't using the current SDC tag, you will need this document. It has examples. Do you have it? Without knowing more about your exact situation it is hard to provide an example that will help.

Thanks for ur reply again .Please excuse me if i am not very clear in putting things.I am completely new to webtrends.So i am looking for a better way to implement it.I am looking at the document AdvancedConfigurationGuide Book for my reference.But It does not put the way i can use current SDC tag.

I would like to have know somthing basic which will help me to move further.please let me know if i am moving in right way.
