I've had some great luck applying filters to Google Analytics to track hidden referrals and search network sources.

Stickey me if you are curious about this - I'd be happy to share if people want to know about these filters.

I've looked around a bit and can't seem to find anything similar for tracking the Content Network.

Anyone here have any tricks they want to share?

Thanks in advance from Boston!

Welcome to WebMasterWorld Boston_SEM!

So, what you're looking to do is definitely possible. Basically it involves creating a duplicate profile that only deals in cpc data, then applying a filter that glues the content of the referrer with the cpc source. If you do a Google search for:
google analytics content network filter
the second result is a blog from a Google Analytics partner that has screenshots and a complete explanation.

thanks a mil - very helpful.

Anyone crack the googlesyndication.com problem yet?

Oh yeah - for future readers - don't forget that while there may be a 48 hour delay, the Placement Performance Report from Google is another way to have a look.

Glad it was helpful. In terms of the googlesyndication.com problem, you really shouldn't be seeing it show up as a referrer as long as your campaigns are tagged properly (either with auto-tagging or manual tagging, but NOT both).

Ah - that would be a problem.

It would be real nice if I could do this on a per profile or campaign basis and I see it only is allowable at the account level.

This may be a call for needing a second account.
