I am using google webmasters tool for analyzing my seo performance. The webmasters tools says that my homepage has around 200 pages pointing towards it (external links), but my links as per google toolbar is only 6, which one is correct ?, why is difference coming ? Please advise

The google webmasters tool is relatively better. You can rely on it.

The google toolbar works with the link: command which does not work these days. So do not worry what the toolbar info say about backward links.

Yes, both are Google's tools.Thats correct.

Previously Google used to show all the backlinks when one typed

link:http://www.example.com

But now, this command has become obsolete. Google does not care about that because it has provided the new Google webmasters tools to its users. Anything new surpasses the old.
