Someone linked to an article of mine on Stumble Upon and it's bringing a large traffic surge to my site. At first I thought my site was down because I couldn't access it so called my host and they said I have a limit of 25 visitors trying to load my site at once so it's a large amount of traffic hitting my site. Then I checked my site meter and it's full of Stumble Upon links.

This is nice but I'm concerned my regular visitors may not be able to access my site. I usually have 95% google visitors and I didn't see any when I checked my sitemeter because it's all stumble upon.

Any one experience this before?

Any one know how long this might last?

Yes! And, I'm the one who Stumbled upon you this morning in my Social Media Networking Adventures. It was worth a Stumble. ;)

You should be fine. Unless you get a sudden surge of many visitors and your site is dynamic and can't handle the load. But, I think you'll be just fine.

Should I do anything?

Enjoy the ride...

Shhh! You're part of me current SMM/SMO research. :)

Oh wait! I missed the 25 visitor limit thing. Call them quickly and have them remove it if you want the traffic. I should have probably pinged you in advance to warn you. My sincerest apologies.

Hi Page One,

I knew it was you, and I tried to send you an email to thank you for linking to my article but stumble wouldn't let me (I'm stumble illiterate) and I couldn't find your profile here. I signed up on stumble so might surf around there a bit. I usually spend most of my time here.

My host says it will quadruple my hosting fee if I move to a semi-dedicated server so I'll just wait out the flood.

I won't tell anyone you're doing research :)

If you want to know how much traffic it generated let me know.

Its kind of neat. I signed up way back when but never really got into then, still haven't really, I'm learning too. I am a total noob to this SMM/SMO thing and having one heck of a time!

Seriously? Time very well spent!

If your time is limited, don't waste it. That whole SMO/SMM thing will suck the life right out of you if the bug bites. I'm trying some Off! right now but it ain't working!

Stay here!

Until you get some "Friends" and then slowly venture out into the wilderness.
