There is a small online retailer whose products I would like to promote on my affiliate site. The retailer has expressed interest but doesn't have an affiliate program. So my question...
Is there a simple and ultra-low-cost way for this retailer to track my referrals?
I did find Mal's ecommerce "mTracker", which seems good (and is free), but it's apparently only offered as an "add-on" to their shopping cart service...
I also saw something on this forum about possibly using Google analytics to track affiliate referrals...(?)
What about tracking software like Afftrack?
thanks all!
A free way to do this is through an analytics system.
You link to him with something like adding ?source=yourname on the end of your links. Then he needs an analytics system that can filter sales by entry pages that contain the string "?source=yourname". You might be able to do this in Google analytics, but if not then Indextools is now owned by Yahoo and you could do it free. He also gets a much better tracking system than Google analytics at the same time.
