Crazy search terms in stats

I was just looking over my stats in awstats and noticed something that makes me wonder. I'm Not at home so I can't look at my logfiles to answer the question myself.

Here is what I noticed. When I look at my stats I see search terms such as 'tot', '105', 'nexearch', 'btn', 'click' etc. Each of these terms individually has provided (according to my stats) 100's of visitors to my website. But if I go to google and search for these terms my website is nowhere to be found.

These words are listed under keyword phrases. Is it possible they are part of a search involving other terms, such as 'tot something else' even though they show up as just one word in the keyword phrase listing?

It could be someone doing an internal search on your site if you have an internal search feature...or it could be just from log file/web stats spam.

Turns out it was some overseas search engine that had its searches parsed incorrectly.
