Location refers to ISP location?

So, let me get this straight. The city, country, continent, etc. locations listed in GA are just the locations of the visitors ISP? What good does that do me?

Many folks go with ISP's who serve entire countries and are routed through locations thousands of miles from their physical location. Also, one user's ISP location can change quite frequently should they go with this type of national provider.

Should I really be tracking this information? How much weight do you put on this metric?

the isp's server will typically be close enough that communications costs will be reasonable, especially with high speed connections.
probably within 50-100 miles in a large majority of cases.

hmmm. I'm in Michigan and my ISP shows up as Ohio, and sometimes Kentucky. I have to continually add to my GA filters to accomodate for my changing IP address.

So, I'm not sure I agree with your viewpoint.
