Google have sent an e-mail to selected merchants using both Checkout and Analytics offering them the opportunity to participate in a three month study.

According to the offer from Google, it is devised to provide a proper Google Analytics set-up, guidance to improve the checkout process, and an introduction to Google Analytics partner, Epikone, for personalized analytics consulting.

Google is sponsoring this to ensure correct use and interpretation of Analytics and integration between it and Checkout is maximized.

introduction to Google Analytics partner, Epikone

That's unusual for Google to recommend a single partner in the consulting arena - and a little worrying imho. If that's a trend, then there may be scaling issues. Let's say the Portuguese Government wanted some consulting and needed it across all their government departments (in their local language). Are serious companies likely to set up Google Analytics consultancies if Google has favoured a solitary provider? Probably not. I guess Portugal are free to choose a different solution.
