Updated version of 'stats package' thread.?

I am thinking about changing the logfile-statistics package that I'm using for my web site. I reviewed the archived thread of information, posted here:

Which Stats Package is right for you? [webmasterworld.com]

However, the above discussion was closed (the thread was "locked") in September 2005. I would suspect that newer information, such as "Package X was bought out by Company Y" or "Package Z is brand new", has become available in the intervening years.

I would appreciate any particular recommendations informed users would care to offer.

You have a point! I'll start something decent when I can and in the meantime, if anyone wants to start sending me sticky mails plugging their version of reality, feel free.

Please don't post directly to the forum though. It was an interesting balance of diplomacy vs Terms of service last time round.
