How does webtrend works

Hi,

We need to produce our website statistics and probably we will go for webtrends. I have quick query here: We are using Apache web server to host our web pages (generated through a WCM product). I need to know if Webtrends generates various site statistics reports from the apache logs (for all hits and visits) or is it kind of a listener program which continously keeps on watching all the request coming to web servers and logs all the data which can later be used for reporting?

Depends on which version of webtrends you go for. yes, the log analysers use apache logs (or any other sorts of logs) but the Live version is tag based afaik.
