How can I delete Google Analytics?
Put it on yesterday. Website down today!
Probably only a coincidence but you know what it's like. :)
There doesn't seem to be an option to remove on the GA site unless you have more than 1 profile.
Short of just removing all the tracking code, anyone any other ideas please?
(And why don't Google let you take the profile off?)

If you don't remove the tracking code, you won't have removed GA. I don't think there IS a way to delete the interface, but t here is a way to add multiple sites into the interface.

you MIGHT be able to move the GA account into another dormant ID so you don't see it on your console.

i'd tried to close my account once, and they said it's not possible (how can it not be possible?)
they said i should just remove the tracking code and change the url in the admin panel to something like www.example.com instead. apparently that is the closest you can get to it being closed.

I could be missing the point here, but if you've removed the tracking code then when pages from your site render or at least attempt to render the Analytics server is not accessed and so could not be affecting your site?

When you say your site is down, what exactly do you mean? When you browse to the site you get an error? You can't access the site through its control panel?

I simply don't see how adding Analytics could have a thing to do with a site going down.

It's enough to comment out the urchinTracker code (or to simply delete it). Once you did that you can log into the GA account and you should see that Google is not collecting data anymore. However, as it was already said, there is a very little chance that GA broke your site.
