absolute links - google analytics

Do absolute links cause referrals from own website

Recently installed google analytics - and vast majority of traffic sources is my own website as a referring website

I asked google about this - and they just give cookie-cutter answer of don't use redirects or frames...I don't

However - most of the links on my pages are absolute links (not relative) - so perhaps this is causing google to think my internal links are coming form the outside?

Anyone have experience with this - if this is the cause, does anyone know a workaround?

This currently skews my data to a useless state because all of my goal conversions are showing as referrals from my own website - so I can't really tell where they are originally coming from - thanks in advance
