Hotlinking to PDFs

One of the PDF's on my site has suddenly become very famous. While I dont mind it at all, I cant figure out where all the traffic is coming from.

Any suggestions? I have some software running but it wont log referer info to a pdf.

Ive though about using a click tracker app just for the PDF.

any other suggestions?

You may be seeing one person download multiple times - one page at a time. This makes it look like lots of people.

You need to go back to the original logs and grep out the specific pdf and see what is going on.

it's not that, there are thousands of downloads and it just doesnt match the pattern for this type of file.
