If I am tracking correctly:
8% have no javascript
10% do not allow any cookies
at least 2% appear to manually accept cookies
1% take about 2 seconds to download 1k
1% take about 3 seconds or more to download 1k
20% hit the reload at least once during their visit
only 1% edits the URL to get back to the main domain
I have tried setting session cookies through perl & javascript and it really doesn't help and probably only irritates the large number of people who seem to accept cookies manually.
I have actually started to wonder about the value of using cookies for anything other than tracking repeat visitors. People spend an average of 10 minutes at my site, and only 0.5% of people who accept cookies have an IP Address change during their visit. People who stay always click around a lot, and I track every click.
Thoughts?
