I wonder if any of you could give me some tips on how to interpret a report from Web Trends. What is the most important information I should be looking for in the report and what need I not be too concerned about.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
There is a lot of data that is important.
Referring site
Referring search engine
referring url
path through site
tope search phrase
most active time of day
most active regions
single access pages
tope exit pages
tope entry pages
most requested pages
errors
new vs. return visitors
spiders
I could go on and on. It really depends on what you want to know about your site.
Thanks for the swift reply. What I'm trying to determine is whether the doorways I have submitted for a client are doing what they are supposed to (i've had to use doorways as the client didn't want the content or look of the site changed).
Thanks
Filter out all robots and syphons from referrers. Filter out frames and your own visits to the pages.
Set the report to show the top 100 (or more)search terms. Default is set on top 10.
If you have Enterprise suit or higher you can also click on reversed analysis from your pay off page. Thus you can measure quality on your search engine traffic.
