Today (Sunday 7/15) Google Analytics shows multiple hours where there is essentially no traffic for my site. My Google Adsense stats seem to show a loss of traffic but not as great as Analytics shows, although it is a little hard to tell since Adsense only updates stats and does not list them hour by hour.
My monitoring service for my hosting/website has not reported any server down time.
Is it possible that Google Analytics is wrong or experiencing some problem and that's why my website stats seem so strange today?

As a follow up to my issues of traffic discrepancies between Google Analytics and Webtrends, I would like to post some of my findings and impressions.
As a reminder, we have started using Google Analytics to track some of our websites, in addition to Webtrends Ondemand. Both use javascript page tags as the data collection method (no log file data is used in Webtrends).
Most of the time, I found GA numbers to be very close to Webtrends ( GA ~= 95%-98% Webtrends).
Two weeks ago, I noticed a significant drop in GA's reported visits, not reflected in Webtrends. While GA used to show about 2k visits less than Webtrends, suddenly, it was reporting over 12k less visits for the same days.
After a few days, the issue resolved itself, and Google came back to matching Webtrends in the > 95% range.
Then, yesterday, Google shows a huge drop again, with the number of visits being half of what's in Webtrends (18k visits in GA, 32k in Webtrends).
I was really puzzled by this discrepancy, as we didn't change anything on our side.
Then, I looked at my personal site that I'm tracking with Google Analytics, and noticed that for yesterday, the traffic reported is 43% lower than the day before.
Intrigued, I compared the traffic for some other minor sites from my company on which we are also using Webtrends and GA and the same issue appears yesterday: GA is displaying a total number of visits almost half of what Webtrends is reporting.
Obviously, it appears that this drop in traffic reported in GA is affecting several sites that are unrelated. I have to conclude that there is an issue on Google's side and I guess they are experiencing some sort of outage that affects the consistency of their statistics.
Has any of you noticed the same problem?
Did you also see a drop in the total visits reported for yesterday (07/16/2007) in Google Analytics?
I'd be curious to have some feedback from you.

That's why I'm here - looking to see if I'm alone. I noticed this first on Sunday - traffic looked down. And for a couple of hours Analytics showed no traffic at all. I got worried and looked at Adsense - traffic looked normal.
Same thing earlier today.
Not the first time this has happened, either.
Well, you get what you pay for. We may switch over to IndexTools soon.
"Please note that the previous Google Analytics interface will no longer be accessible as of July 18th."
Still, 100% of our site traffic is being classified as "Direct Traffic" which is impossible.
I just went onto the Analytics help pages and despite a list of FAQs on the front page, when you click on them the answer it gives is 'invalid problem'. That's helpful!
Sort it out Google.
Same here, Only showing a couple of visitors each day but I get my normal amount of Page impressions from AdSense.
I also noticed they are having problems validating new sites. I submitted one last night and it still has not validated ownership using the meta tag verification.

Interesting is it coincides with a dive to zero in alexa -- there's no relation between the two is there?
I think it's fair to say this is an across the board problem.
Google Analytics users,
