If you want to 301-redirect a site, can you append Google Analytics tracking data to the destination URL of the site?

We recently turned off an older site, and are redirecting traffic to our new site. We want to be able to track any users that arrived by visiting the old site. Any ideas?

In GA select Traffic Sources => Refferring Sites => at the bottom you will see Find Sourse, just type in the url of your site and it should come up with data, if there is any to show.
