A page at another site purports to link to one on my site.

When I click on that page's link to my page, in my browser bar appears the following:

[mydomain.com...]

What is the stuff after:

[mydomain.com...]

Is the referring site up to anything I should be suspicious about?

Why does what appears to be information about the surfer appear in the url? As far as I know my system is not putting it in there. But I could be wrong.

maybe they got the link from somewhere else, rather than writing it themselves.

if your site appears in a directory, for example, the directory may have added all that stuff on, and these people just copied the link from there.
lots of people right-click on useful links and choose 'copy link location' from the menu. then they just paste whatever it is onto their page.
