Visitors more than Pageviews

How does that work? I just noticed that my stats (graphic stats) shows mysite having higher visitors than pageviews. Maybe Im not understanding what PageView is?

Also what is Returning Visitors? A person who visits the site again within a day? A week? For example what does 40% returning visitor imply? I dont know what the time period is.

Some ISPs issue dynamic IP addresses for all requests, so a single operator requesting a page with nine images might generate 10 separate IP address requests for the same "page" (one per image and one for the HTML page).
