How many requests does the logfile miss because of caching

Does anyone have some stats on how many % of requests webservers miss because of users/ISPs/Proxyx' caching?

That would be a very useful statistic because I always tell people that web stats are underestimated for this very reason.
But you can prevent that by forcing the web page to download the latest version within the HTML, can't you. I haven't used it but I think its a META tag called PRAGMA or something.
