Server logs vs. uptime report

oposite directions; who to trust?

Hi all,

A few days ago my server logs, processed through Summary 2.3.11 said that I've had several gaps in service, but hyperspin.com report says I've had 100% uptime. This is confusing and would like to know if anybody knows about the accuracy of either sources...

* Am I having downtimes or not?
* Maybe Summary's "Gaps in service" report is just saying there was no activity at all?

If noone is accessing you site, your server logs will show a gap. If your website is down, the logfiles will also show a gap. Therefore you are right, it could as well be a visitor gap.
