I am looking for some software or script to parse raw server logs , to make them more understandable.

or maybe some method. or system, something! and it needs to be freeware, or shareware or test version or something. The owners of the site dont want to spend a penny on this, until we start converting. And Im trying to identify the IPs that are visiting the site to check for competitors driving up our clicks. any suggestions!

also are there any ways to prevent competitors from driving up impressions artificially. Im starting to think this is happening. Our site having very good , text ads in adwords, great rates, matching ads and keywords, call to action, were testing 3-4 per keyword group. But our CTR one day is 2.4% the next it drops to .34%, and the impressions double or triple th previous days. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Microsoft has a great free product that might be exactly what you're looking for. It's on the Microsoft site and it's called LogParser.

For the impressions question you might want to go over to one of the search engine forums and ask there.

I don't know whether I'm allowed to give you link to a useful tool which helped me myself out a couple of years a go or not,
but there is a software named weblogexpert which is very lightweight and handy, I think you its Lite version is available for free : [weblogexpert.com...]

Good thread.

I downloaded logparser and also found this, a visual version doing away with the command line
