google analytics help with tracking code

Hi folks

This might be a simple question but its puzzling me...

I have a domain - www.abc.com. most of the pages are unsecured ie http but a few of the personal details pages are secure (via a ssl cert on the whole domain) resulting in https. I have an existing profile for this site in G analytics which has being running fine with the secure google javascript code (the one that begins with ssl.goog....)on every page - unsecured and secured.

Now here is the problem - I've set up a second profile based on the same site/domain (so i can experiment with filter's). When I set up the 2nd profile I set the URL up as [abc.com...] (so it matched the first profile) but the resulting stats have been totally incorrect - ie 1 page view per day.

All ad campaigns point to [abc.com...] not [abc.com...] yet the old existing profile (pointing to the same https site) works and shows hundreds of page view.

Should I be using the unsecured google code for the http pages and secure code for the ssl - and if I should how come the existing profile works fine?

Any help will be gratefully received as I need to sort this before I can implement any filters.

Many thanks
