Id like to send traffic to one of my websites but I do not want the search strings (from the search engines) to appear in my server stats.

I want this information to remain private and NOT be accessible through my server.

Thanks in advance

There is nothing you can do to stop the browser sending a referer if it is set up to do so (and all modern browsers do so by default).

If you control the server configuration for the site with the stats package, obviously you can not log the referer string if you wish.

I know opera has a setting where you can disable referrers, so the string does not show up.

Yes, sorry: to clarify, a user can block referers in their browsers, but a ite owner can't control the sending of referrers by visitors' browsers.

As encyclo said, you can turn off the logging of the referrer in your server.
