I've only been running my site for a few weeks. Anyone familiar with this company? I was looking at my web stats and noticed they've now visited more pages than anyone, including me, for crying out loud.

I've tried looking them up to see if they run some sort of bot, to no avail. The WW site search here was not working before I posted this message.

Thanks

The below post is closed, but it's asking the same question I had:

In the past week, some kind of bot with the only user agent of "Java/1.4.2_04" has been rummaging around on one of our sites, sucking down over 100 megs.

It's using a few ips within 170.224.8.x - which is owned by "sequent" which was bought by IBM (and IBM is listed on their support). Whois source reports nameservers being listed on that IP at "RALEIGH.USF.IBM.COM"

Can't find out much on this. Any ideas?
I've blocked them until I find out more.

By any chance are you hosting with IBM or using any kind of IBM software such as WebSphere?

No IBM hosting for me. I wasn't having as much leeched as amznVibe had, I'm guessing because I don't have as much on my site.

But this visitor was by far the most intrusive for me (before I blocked the address) - kind of like that movie "Lifeforce."
