How to measure link clicks with a private sponsor?

Measuring clicks with a sponsor who does not have an official PPC program?

Hi everyone,

I've been offered sponsorship for my website by a company who does not have a PPC system setup.

Simply, they want to put their small logo on every page of my site, and pay me every time someone clicks their logo.

How can I measure the number of clicks on the sponsor's logo so I can check that they are reporting click-rates to me accurately?

Is there any way of analysing these results by specific page (eg. number of outbound clicks coming from my homepage, number of outbound clicks coming from my widget page)?

I have cPanel interface with AWStats and Webalizer but I'm not sure if it's possible to configure these to do what Im asking? So perhaps some other type of solution is necessary?

Thanks for your help,

Jon.

Best is to install and use phpAdsNew which is now Openads or similar click tracking software for your banner ad

You can track the outbound clicks quite simply by installing a webpage that the logo links to and redirects to the sponsors website.
You can even install some simple reporting features (using php) like timestamp, browser used (for differentiating real users from bots), IP address etc.

If I understand your question correctly, one possibility is to filter your traffic data by referrer. In other words, look in your click stream data for records that have your sponsor's website as referrer.
