I have just added Google maps on to my site as it adds some credibility to my site. We are already doing well in Google.

But after adding Google maps there are lot of heavy images and some js files are being loaded which quite obviously makes my site slow.

Example: [maps.google.com...] (50604 bytes)

Some of the images are:

(7465) image/png [mt0.google.com...]
(14118) image/png [mt3.google.com...]
(14296) image/png [mt1.google.com...]
(1440) image/png [mt3.google.com...]
(18861) image/png [mt0.google.com...]
(337) image/png [mt2.google.com...]
(1452) image/png [mt1.google.com...]
(2495) image/png [mt2.google.com...]
(900) image/png [mt0.google.com...]

In total there are more than 150 images.

Can anyone suggest any solutions to this? I have been working on decreasing the size of my website for last couple of weeks. Please help!

If you have already designed your website to incorporate google maps then I would recommend you use general flash maps by default and a checkbox for the user to enable detailed google maps if they want to. This way your pages should load faster.
