In Google Analytics, when you click on Domains (to see the domains of the visitors to your site) a certain number of domains are shown.
When you click on "Network Location" which in actuality seems to be the Organization Name of the visitor and not necessarily the ISP they are using (so somebody could be using SBC, but somehow Google is able to show that the Organization Name (or company name in most instances) of the visitor is coming from).
My question is where is the Organization Name derived from? Other software I use only shows the domain name that a certain visitor's IP resolves to but not the Organization Name.
I'm trying to find out what IP address one of my visitors is coming from, based on the Organization Name but when I analyze the log entries, they only show the Domain Names and Google doesn't allow you to find out what IP address a certain Organization resolves to.
Hopefully I didn't just confuse you all.....
I'm not entirely sure if this is what Google do... But I would assume they use the RIR databases for the organisation info:

Make sure that you have ticked 'ALL' in the drop down box next to 'Alternative database'.
So if for example you type in 'google' you'll see the IP address blocks relating to Google in various different countries. Of course it doesn't tell you a single IP address which is impossible to find out from an organisation name as the IPs are always given in blocks.
Is that helpful at all? Hope so....
Cheers,
