what to do before giving a company ftp access to your site?

Would like to know what I should have a company sign before I giving them ftp access to my web site? Is there a specific contract designed just for this type of thing? Please let me know.

I think it would depend on the situation and what you wanted to protect.

Proper permissioning and backups should be in place before the access is granted.

On the other hand, I was given admin access by a client after a phone call. He had a problem, and I had the solution. His partners thought he was nuts.

Six years later, I am still servicing the client.

His default procedure for new machines now is to create an admin account for me immediately. Then, he calls *me* in the middle of the night when he locks himself out.
