My thought for my website.I can have a section in my home page where I can display the names of the last eight logged-in users along with their avatars. The names will be linked to the respective home pages of the members. This will give the users a community feeling and also encourage others to be a part of the community.

Is this a good idea for me to implement such type of interface for my website?

please suggest.

I have seen that on forums before, and it seems a pretty clever idea to me - although not all community members would like to have their URLs revealed. Infact - not all members would have a URL.

I find that I use it a a lot on the forums that have it working. It adds value, but don't revel any private info.

I'd think a "last updated" section would be a better feature.
