Hello!

I was wondering what is the average page request per IP address for a 1 day period? If different people happen to access your site from a school network computer, computer station on a work server or some other public computer, I assume it would show the same IP?

I was recently dropped from one of my advertising networks due to a high number of impressions from certain IP addresses. They say that a high number of impressions per IP address per single day denotes robotic activity and thus clearly fraudulent.

Thanks,
Jade

This varies widely depending on the type of site, whether it is in a competitive search term market, etc.

Not necessarily. If the computer receives its addresses dynamically, different IP addresses will be shown. If the school is behind some kind of NAT device, the same IP may be shown (but multiple could be shown if there is some kind of loadsharing across multiple IPs).

Some engines and/or networks set limits on the number of impressions or clicks from a given IP address. It's not a perfect solution to click or impression fraud, but some advertisers are satisfied enough with it to continue to advertise with these companies.
