I have ensured that the template has URL parameter included, and it does, but it doesn't work :(
I also made sure that the urls are not being truncated.
One question I have is, since these settings were just changed today, can I reanalyze the old traffic to get that data or will it only apply to new data and is that reason that it's not appearing?
Thanks!
You can re-analyze old traffic unless you are using On Demand (the ASP service).
I assume "set my site to use it" means you attached or activated the parameter analysis in your profile, to use WT terminology.
These things can have a lot of reasons because WT offers so many choices and ways to set things up. My main guess right now is that you defined the PA wrong and it's just not finding any matches.
Have you checked out the WT peer-to-peer forum at forums.webtrends.com? There are a lot of experienced users there and you might get a faster response.
I will inquire there.
For what it's worth, I am not an idiot, I just haven't ever used WebTrends and the system admins here that are supposed to know how to use it, don't, so I'm left to figure it out on my own.
Thanks!
One question I have is will the URL Analysis section fail to show up completely under Site Design if it fails?
I just logged into WebTrends and see that the URL Analysis report is now showing, but has no data.
Here is what I have for my setup:
URL Parameters:
Page Name:
/content/content3.asp The page I want to analyze is [myurl.com...]
Primary Parameter:
FolderKey
Web Site URL:
[myurl.com...]
Then I have made sure to apply the URL Parameter Analysis setting I created to my profile.
Would it be better for me to do a match on content instead of the explicit url?
Anyway ...
It's good that the report is showing up because that eliminates a lot of possibilities.
The first thing I would do is look in your Pages report (since you are not truncating parameters) and make sure that the parameter in question is appearing in that report. If it is not, you might have filtered out those hits. If it is, then ...
Recheck your PA definition to make sure the spelling and even the capitalization are exactly as you see it. There is one place in WT where capitalization counts --- I don't remember where it is but this might be it.
Next I would make a new PA and set the page name to "*" (not regular expression). If it does work, the problem is probably your page name. If it still doesn't work, and your parameter name is definitely correct, I would wonder if your profile's database is corrupted. I'd make a new profile with a recent start-analysis date and see if it suddenly populates.
Finally, I have a question about why you included your site URL in your description of your parameter analysis setup. It's not needed anywhere in the PA setup screen.
I checked the pages report and the parameters do not show up in the page. I am only getting back the root url for that page so [myurl.com...] shows but [myurl.com...]
does not. So I'm assuming that the data was filtered out :( Where can I check those settings?
I only included the URL from the site's profile just to show that it was set up correctly ;)
